These Terms govern:

• the use of this Application, and
• any related agreement or legal relationship with the Owner.

By using this Application, Users agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

What the User should know at a glance

• Core features of ChineseApp are free until beginning of 2026. No payment or subscription is required to access the app until then.
• If paid subscriptions or purchases are introduced in the future, these Terms describe how they will be handled.
• All purchases are processed securely by the Apple App Store. The Owner does not collect or store payment card information.

TERMS OF USE

Unless otherwise specified, the following terms of use apply generally when using this Application.

Eligibility

• Users may use this Application as Consumers or Business Users, provided they comply with applicable laws.
• Users must not be located in countries subject to embargoes or listed on U.S. restricted party lists.

Account registration

No user account is currently required to use this Application. If accounts are introduced in the future, Users will be informed and these Terms will apply to account use.

Content on this Application

Unless otherwise specified, all content available through this Application is owned by or licensed to the Owner. Users may use the content only for personal, non-commercial learning purposes.

Users may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works except where explicitly permitted.

Acceptable use

Users must use this Application only for its intended purposes — learning Chinese — and in compliance with the law. Prohibited uses include:

• violating laws or third-party rights,
• attempting to reverse engineer or misuse the Application,
• using the Application to harass, abuse, or defraud others.

The Owner may suspend or terminate access in cases of misuse.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

Free access until beginning of 2026

The Application’s core features are free until December 31, 2025. After that date, the Owner may introduce paid products or subscriptions.

Purchases and subscriptions (future use)

• All purchases are handled exclusively through the Apple App Store.
• If subscriptions are introduced, they may automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Users can manage or cancel subscriptions in their Apple ID account settings.

Right of withdrawal

By downloading or streaming digital content, Users consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that they waive their statutory right of withdrawal once access begins.

Liability and disclaimers

This Application is provided “as is” and “as available.” While the Owner strives for accuracy and reliability, no warranty is given that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Owner shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the Application.

Common provisions

Service interruption

The Owner may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or force majeure events. If the Service is discontinued, Users will be informed in advance where possible.

Intellectual property

All trademarks, content, and intellectual property displayed in this Application are owned by the Owner or licensors and may not be used without permission.

Changes to these Terms

The Owner reserves the right to amend these Terms. Users will be informed of changes through the Application or the website. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country where the Owner is based. However, consumers may benefit from mandatory legal protections in their own country.

Disputes will be handled by the competent courts of the Owner’s place of business, unless local consumer laws provide otherwise.

Definitions

• Owner (or We): The legal entity providing this Application and Service.
• User (or You): Any natural person or legal entity using this Application.
• Consumer: A User qualifying as such under applicable law.
• Service: The features and content provided by this Application (readings, lessons, AI tutor, quizzes, calligraphy practice, etc.).
• Product: Digital services or content made available through this Application.
